Proximity Sensor problems in Nokia Lumia 510 does not normally occur unless the phone is severely mishandled or water damaged. It is highly unlikely that you will ever get a malfunctioning proximity sensor but I still thought it is worth mentioning.
Nokia Lumia 510 Proximity Sensor is used for detecting your face when the phone is being used during a call.
